Why EUC Headlights Fail

Speed up and your light dives to the ground – exactly when you need to see ahead. Slow down and it shoots up, blinding oncoming riders. Stock headlights follow wheel pitch, creating visibility problems with every speed change.

Climb a hill and your light aims at the ground directly beneath you. Descend and it shoots skyward while the road disappears into shadow. Fixed-mounted headlights can’t adapt to terrain changes.

How Horizon Solves It

Developed in collaboration with Michał Pietraszek, the original inventor of self-stabilizing EUC lights, Horizon uses a smooth BLDC motor to control the light angle in real-time, guided by dual-sensor intelligence, keeping your beam exactly where you need it.

Stabilization Mechanism

BLDC motor drive provides smooth, precise tilting movement across 45° range. This handles everything from aggressive acceleration to steep descents without hesitation.  You won’t experience jarring corrections – just seamless and instant beam stability as you ride.

Gyroscope tracks the wheel’s pitch angle in real-time, compensating instantly to keep the beam level during acceleration and braking. This eliminates the tilting headlight problem – your light stays pointed at the road ahead, not diving to the ground or shooting skyward.

Lidar measures ground distance continuously, automatically adjusting beam angle on climbs and descents. When you hit an uphill, the lidar detects the changing distance and tilts the beam up to keep illuminating your path. On downhills, it adjusts the beam down.

Smart sensor fusion algorithms prioritize the right input for each riding condition – gyro for smooth compensation on flat terrain and dynamic riding, lidar for terrain-aware leveling on hills. The lidar sensor sits on top of the light module, ensuring it remains unobstructed even with lower lift handle bumper setups.

Automotive-Grade Light

Ultra-Wide Low Beam

Sharp beam cutoff prevents blinding oncoming traffic. Perfect for city riding and traffic situations where you need broad coverage without glare. The cutoff line is precisely engineered – your light illuminates the road ahead while staying below the eye level of oncoming riders and pedestrians.

Long-Range High Beam

Perfect for fast riding on dark roads and trails. The throw distance extends well beyond typical EUC headlights, giving you time to react to obstacles at speed.

Very Bright DRL

Two high-output diffused LED strips create a bright, continuous signature – no dotty LEDs.

DRL is always on and dims slightly when low or high beam is active to maximize main beam output. It also acts as indicatior of device status and mode changes.

Smart Remote Control

Bluetooth finger-mounted remote puts complete control at your fingertips – literally. The wireless remote gives you instant access to beam adjustment, mode switching, horn, and quick flash – all without taking your eyes off the road or your hands off the wheel.

Glove-Friendly Design

Five distinct button shapes designed for tactile identification – you can tell which button is which by touch alone, even with thick winter gloves. The buttons are large enough to press reliably with gloved fingers and spaced to prevent accidental presses.

Manual Beam Adustment

Up/down buttons let you adjust beam angle across the full 45° range while stabilization stays active. Your preferred setting is saved automatically and persists across power cycles.

Built-In Horn & Attention Signal

Center button activates an audible horn through Horizon’s built-in beeper – effective for alerting cyclists and pedestrians on shared paths.

Quick flash function gives you an attention signal when needed: double-click the right button to activate a rapid beam flash.

Instant Mode Changes

Left/right buttons switch between low and high beam instantly. Low beam activates the ultra-wide pattern with sharp cutoff for city riding. High beam engages the long-range pattern for dark roads and trails.

Weather Protection

Rainproof Construction: Every element and external cable entrance is sealed for wet weather use including rain, wet roads, splash, puddles, and snow. We’ve tested extensively in winter conditions – freezing rain, slush, and road salt spray.

What to avoid: Submersion, pressure washing, and direct water stream. This isn’t a dive watch – it’s built for weather, not water sports.

Compatibility

Available now for most of LeaperKim EUC models. More wheels coming soon! Plug-and-play using the same 3.5mm mini-jack connector as your stock headlight. Works with stock setups and Grizzla Kit bumpers.

Available Now

Veteran / LeaperKim: Sherman S, Sherman L, Lynx, Patton, Patton S

Coming Soon

InMotion: P6

Veteran / LeaperKim: Oryx, Lynx S

Nosfet: Apex, Aero, Aeon

Why the wait?

Newer models (Oryx, Lynx S, Nosfet family) use different architecture and beeper connection. Horizon Batch 1 would work as a light but without integrated beeper commands from the EUC – a safety concern we’re not willing to compromise on. The next PCB revision adds full support while maintaining all safety-critical beeper functionality.

Warranty

12-month warranty covers actuator, sensors, and electronics under normal use.

Not covered:
• Water damage from submersion or pressure washing
• Crash damage (conditions cannot be verified)
• Normal wear and tear (scratches, scuffs)
• Damage from unauthorized modifications

We stand behind our work. If something fails due to a manufacturing defect or component failure within the warranty period, we’ll repair or replace it. Contact us at info@grizzlapads.com with photos and description of the issue.

    Works as advertised.
Very good build quality and attention to detail

Yes it’s expensive (1/10th the price of my Lynx) but it allows use of my preferred pedal hardness and acceleration assist settings, previously not usable at night because of light beam issues. This fixes the problem exactly as I had wished for before this even came out. So well worth it to me.

The pivot seems to be magnetically controlled and not linked to a servo, so that makes me trust the durability. Lidar works really welln could be a bit quicker (for example climbing a bridge going from uphill to downhill suddenly you’re still blinding people for a sec or two).

Overall very satisfied. My only 2 complaints are : when the EUC leans sideways the “corners” of the beam still can get higher and blind people for a second, and the finger remote could be thinner (I actually removed the mini remote from its printed casing and velcroed it to my glove)
I’m guessing this technology might come stock on some future EUCs hopefully.

I recommend this product if you’re interested in it

Got mine the other day for the Lynx and Sherman L.

They work pretty well, definitely not a gadget. Second night ride with the Lynx tonight. It confirmed my original impression. Had the Cyclops on both wheels before, this is definitely an upgrade.

    Pros:

    – Quick to adjust. I ride in a rural area with a *lot* of hills, and I can ride 50-60 kph without losing visibility, even coming to the top of a hill. I see the path down with no interruption. Smooth.

    – Nice finger remote with single button operation for high and low beams. Additional buttons allow you to turn it off, sound a loud horn (using the beeper), or adjust the beam up/down as you ride. Long press to flash, etc.

    – Easy installation. Two screws and a cable, just like the Cyclops. Hurray for modular wheels! The same Grizzla headlight had fixtures for the different LK wheels, but they came with the appropriate fixtures pre-installed.

    – Confidence inspiring. Already the Cyclops were a godsend in these parts, with cars running on their high beams all the time (when it gets dark, it’s really dark). This is way better. The light sticks to the road, whether you’re going up or down a hill, or just accelerate or break. It stays stable. My pedal hardness is at 80%, so can’t vouch for noodle mode, sorry.

    – Very adequate illumination. Could be a little brighter, especially on high beam mode, but it’s more than sufficient. The shape is interesting as well, the low beam (always on) is as wide as a two lane road, slightly curved, and the high beam is a smaller rectangle on top of that. Especially apparent on turns. Again, confidence inspiring, more than sufficient vision to ride almost as hard as during the day.

    Cons:

    – Expensive. But worth it for safety and comfort.

    – Noisy. I always used to ride with the Cyclops Day Running Light on, but even in DRL-only mode you can hear it working to adjust, constantly. When you’re stopped, it bothers me a bit. I’ll get used to that eventually.

Disappointed. For such a high-priced item, I had high hopes for it to work properly. Sadly, it did not. My hard-earned money was wasted. The self-leveling feature does not function at all, and the strength of the light itself is weak and narrow.

Is it possible to replace the finger remote control with something classic? We wear gloves and touch the small buttons and then remove every time I put on the gloves the idea opposes me to buy. Benoît asked on May 8, 2026

Actually, our remote has distinct-shaped buttons. It was designed and tested to be fully operational with and withour gloves. The velcro-strap loop can be adjusted for different finger size and the remote itself can be also mounted to bagpack or other accessories.
